Not Enough Coffee on The Planet!

A Sweaty Wedding

Not Our Best Look

There are really no words to describe how tired I am today.  This long weekend proved to be a doozy as far as all things Baby go!  It started off with Baby H and his disgusting tummy bug from daycare (Thursday – still going).  I had it Thursday, but it was really just a 24 hour thing for me.  There has been a lot of poop here, and it makes both Abe and I want to run screaming into the woods – especially at 3am.  I don’t understand how H knows, but he always does this to us on a Sunday or Monday night.

Last night he woke up around 1am, so I went to him and tried to rock him back to sleep but he was having none of it.  Finally I gave up, and put him down hoping that he’d just be tired enough to go to sleep.  I was wrong.  After that, Abe tried his hand at it and instead of seeing some victory, he was gifted with a giant poop explosion.  He cleaned him up, and at some point I took over.  I got him back to sleep sometime around 3.  He was back up shortly after that.  I spent the next 2 hours trying to get him to sleep a little here and there.  Honest to God, What the hell was that?!  It was a nightmare.

We did get to leave baby H at home on Sunday so that we could attend a family wedding.  It was one of those receptions where the DJ sings the whole time, thinking like it’s his party or something.  This was the first time that we’ve left him at home with anyone besides my parents, and it went Ok.  We found the sitter on and she is from our town, so she’s local (and hopefully not too weird).  She seems a little bit nuts, but she is able to handle baby H and all of his eccentricities.  It sounded like he was pretty good for her, so she didn’t appear too stressed when we got back.  The funniest part to me is that she ate like 4 cupcakes.  Like I told her to help herself, which she did, and its funny to me because the strawberry cupcakes that I made are like crack and she totally proved that!

So back to work, barely alive.  This does not bode well for the week.  These are the kinds of days that make me think that an au pair would be such a fantastic idea.  Although, I’d totally be like shaking her out of bed in the middle of the night being like: I will give you $50 extra dollars if you just get him back to sleep!!  I think that after a month we’d go from having live-in help to being blacklisted.  Send Coffee.  Send Help.
