Rice Cooker: Steel Cut Oats

Steel cut oats made in my Zojirushi rice cooker
I’ve been meaning to try making these in the rice cooker for a really long time, but I finally got around to it.  You can even add your toppings into the cooker, my only topping was brown sugar.  Using the measuring cup that comes with the cooker:
2 cups of steel cut oats
5 cups of soy milk
brown sugar as desired (I used about 1-2 teaspoons)
Cook on the porridge setting (takes about 45 minutes)
Servings: 4
I made a big batch so that I could have breakfast for a few days this week.  They came out really great, very creamy and well cooked.  Every time I’ve tried to make steel cut oats in any other way, they come out way undercooked and kind of rubbery but not this time!  This is likely my only victory for the day so I’m going to savor it.
