31 Weeks and 4 Days – Fully Showered

31 weeks and 4 days, 39 inches around.  Abe thinks that this shirt makes me look like a strawberry and I think he is probably right!  I still really like it though, and I especially like that it’s not a maternity shirt so I can wear this again in the spring.
I talked to my doctor about my pelvis pain which has been restricting my exercise and movement.  I told him that I was really concerned that I was getting too big and that I wanted to exercise but my pelvis pain was stopping me: should I push through the discomfort or should I just lay low and forget about it?  Answer: forget about it.  He said not to bother exercising at this point because I would never be able to exercise enough to help any excess weight gain and if I felt like I was getting too big, I could just cut out some carbs.  He did advise that my weight and size were perfectly fine though and that the baby is actually measuring 1 week behind.  I’ll try to relax about this whole thing and just eat more fruits and vegetables.  Also, the Braxton Hicks contractions that I’ve been feeling are totally normal.  I’m running out of room up top.  Suddenly it hurts under the right side of my rib cage, like the baby is pushing upwards and there is nowhere else for it to go.
This weekend, I had two baby showers: one with my super best college friends, and the other one with family and my mom’s friends.  The first shower was really fun and it was just so great to see everyone and hang out.  It’s been a long time since I have even had the time to see my friends, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been that uncomfortably full of food.  There was a serious amount of delicious food from nachos to specially designed cookies.  This guy came home with me at the end of the day.

The second shower was thrown by my mom at her house and I was really expecting it to be one of those days where I’m uncomfortable nonstop but it was fine.  I got through it without really wanting to die.  It helped that one usually stressful family member happened to not be able to make it last minute!  I got to see two childhood friends that I haven’t actually had a conversation with in 12 years or more so that was nice, and it was a relatively short amount of time.
Abe’s sister also gave us 50 pounds, like her suitcase maxed out at the airport, full of baby clothing.  She has 3 little boys, so she has a ridiculous amount of cute clothing to pass on.  Much of the clothing still had tags on them!  Another one of his sisters is sending a big package full of stuff that she noticed wasn’t fulfilled on the registry that she’s now all done with, and I’m really excited about it.  Some people may not be excited about getting hand-me-downs, but I totally don’t mind at all.  I like that the products were tested and approved of by pretty picky people.
I’m feeling slightly more prepared now, although I don’t even know how to begin organizing it all.  I’m going to try and go through everything slowly this week and think about the best storage locations.
