My dog had me up way earlier than planned this morning (That B!). Normally she’ll sleep in to around 8am, but not today. Today she decided at 7am on the dot, it was time to get up and get moving. Once we’re both up, she’s relentless about going for her weekend run/walk. We went out and did 80% running / 20% walking for close to 40 minutes. I guess she was right… if we had waited too much longer it would have been too hot and humid to make it that long. She was struggling a bit, but I knew that we would make it. I completely sweat through my tank top, and got a million mosquito bites, luckily I was really only half awake. We also found this really great area that actually has sidewalks for us to run on – Mia approved.
After this early morning run I put the dog inside to cool off and got to weeding the garden. The weeds have been ignored since we moved into the house in August so at this point they were as tall as me. Gardens should have stuff like vegetables growing in there and not be a hot bed for ticks or small animals. It’s looking much better now, although we still do need to do more work with it. While weeding, I was feeling some like sciatica type pain in my butt when I bent over. It was weird and painful, so I just finished up with the biggest offenders and headed back inside to the air conditioning.
Yesterday’s 30 Day Shred plus today’s run and gardening made for a very lazy rest of the day. My body felt really tired and sore – in a good way, but still uncomfortable. My butt is the most sore from all the squats during the dvd yesterday.
I tried to take a nap, since it became obvious that I wasn’t going to do much with my day, and I just couldn’t get to sleep. I was exhausted but couldn’t stay asleep for more than 5 minutes. Abe had been traveling last week, so maybe now that he’s back I’ll be able to sleep better. I’m really hoping that will cure my insomnia because nobody likes me when I’m tired and cranky. The rest of my day was just as unexciting, maybe tomorrow I’ll actually go out into the world!
