Tonight, I got another PR at my Thursday night group run: 4.06 miles in 35:37 (8:46 pace) dropping 29 seconds from last week and it felt Really good. It was hard, and it hurt, but it felt like a pace that I could be comfortable with and I think I could even have gone a little faster in the last half mile. We kept it really even, no slowing down, no bursts of speed, it just felt smooth.
A lot of things went right today. The humidity decided to leave us, the temperature got just under 80 before we started, and there was a cool breeze. I found my pace group early and stayed with them the whole time not letting them get away from me (meaning 2 people who I always trail). At mile 2 I prayed that I could just keep it together for 2 more miles and then I did, it was crazy that my body actually did what I asked it to do. I probably should have asked it do something else like erase my cellulite or give my hair some body, but I just asked it to run fast enough to stay in the middle group.
I came home and made myself some dinner. Skinless chicken baked in the oven with salsa, red peppers, jalapenos, with some cheese melted on top along with quinoa cooked in the rice cooker with chicken broth. This meal was really good, but suddenly it was 9:45 and I was just finishing my dinner. That’s so freaking late. I think I’m going to have to start cooking ahead or something for Thursdays… meal prep stresses me out. I probably should have just made a Vega shake and called it a night!
