A Thursday Night PR!

There was crazy traffic tonight and it took me forever to get to my group run.  I was freaking out inside because there is a starting line and a finishing line and it’s not like they’re going to wait for one person, and I was all by myself tonight no buddies to car pool or meet up with.  To top things off, because it took me 30 minutes to drive 4 miles I had to pee like crazy but the second I parked my car I saw my group heading over to the start.  What does a person do?  I had to hold it for 4.1 miles. 

I was hoping that the same old man who gave me advice last time to not go out so fast would be there because I actually listened to him.  I shaved 16 seconds off my previous course PR and beat the other crazy old man who runs in a sun hat and knee socks for maximum sun protection.  He usually beats me, no lie, but when I charged past him tonight I really wanted to yell: In Your Face!  I don’t know why, he never did anything to offend me.  I think it was a little bit of like insane running road rage or something.  This was good practice because my team is hosting the Summer Steamer 4.1 mile run this Sunday with basically the same course.

Craved: a Snickers bar

The best part of the day was that when I came home my husband was cooking halibut and veggies for dinner.  Eating dinner at 9pm stinks but when it’s something delicious like that I don’t even care that he probably used an entire stick of butter… I really appreciate the effort he put into making me a meal with good protein.  I think he’s often concerned that I’m not getting enough.  He’s one of those people that thinks about meat and beef all the time, like there should be meat in all meals to him and he’s thinking about buying a 1/4 of a cow to keep in a chest freezer.  I’m one of those people that forgets about meat and can go days without even thinking about it, I just forget or something until my body starts to crave it or if someone cooks it for me.  I really need to be more resourceful in the protein department, I’m going to work on that.

This is the longest week ever.  Tomorrow better end with hot pot or pho!
