Happy Easter! This is my post Easter brunch bike ride with my husband. It actually didn’t last very long at all, but it was too nice of a day to stay cooped up inside. We found a new trail area where we live, and although it’s a bit short and a lot rugged, we had a good experience. We were literally the only bikers on the trail though, so we’re kind of thinking maybe it’s more for walking and running.
We have a new tradition in our family, this is the second or third year we’ve done it. It’s called Easter Brunch with only immediate family at a restaurant/country club otherwise I refuse to go. Why? I see my family a lot, and if it were up to me I’d just want to stay home and relax and make a nice dinner just for me and Abe but my mother is like: well if you don’t want to see the entire family just come to brunch with us. This is probably really selfish, but holidays are meant for family, and so what is meant for just us as a couple? Just Valentine’s Day? Anniversaries? I guess that’s fine, but I just don’t really get excited like I used to for things like Easter.
Things not to say at Easter Brunch:
Brother: Me and [insert name here] are back together.
…luckily he was a good sport about it…
When is the next cool holiday? Marathon Monday or Labor Day? Holidays where we get to do whatever we want!
