I did it. I finally found the mochi at Whole Foods. It was in a really weird place so I came across it by accident. The store I go to has this tiny little section with tofu and fake meat products, but it’s completely away from everything else so you would pass it by if you weren’t looking for tofu. I didn’t buy it this time, but next time I’m there I’ll be sure to get it! You need to actually bake it, and I wasn’t expecting that. In my head mochi came in perfectly shaped cubes ready to be eaten in a whim, but I guess I can handle cutting them and putting them in the oven for the reward of perfect mochi texture on my frozen treat. What else do people put mochi on? Regular yogurt probably, and just desserts? Salads? OMG the possibilities are endless. I might just keep some in my pocket for an emergency snack.
