Allergy Test results are back. We tested for the following foods:
Dairy, soy, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, and peas.
Results: Positive to All (except pine nuts and sesame)
Next step: visit an allergist.
This doesn’t really surprise me. There is a chance that he just has elevated levels of IgE causing him to have false positives, but the reason we tested for these foods is because there was real suspicion of allergies with them. Hopefully we visit the allergist, and we figure out a way to feed him without these foods and then maybe he outgrows many of the issues. It all sounds really bad, but I think that this will become one of those things that’s really annoying at first and then is suddenly just a bad dream and he becomes a totally well adjusted little kid.
I took H to his “little dippers” swimming class this morning, and OMG it was so funny. The water was really warm, and there were 3 other kids in his class. Personally, I thought he was the most talented (of course) but really he was. The two older kids were so scared of the water, and the other baby H’s age was yelling the whole time. Baby H just splashed around and laughed the whole class. Sure he wasn’t really swimming, but he was enjoying himself in the water, which is really the point of it all.
After swim class, we packed up and went into town for lunch with some friends. He sat in a big boy high chair and snacked on some rice crisps for most of the time letting mommy eat for once. We were at The Painted Burro in Davis Square – it was delicious, I got the kale salad. Anyhow, we survived a nice long trip into the city, and then H got a monster nap in the car afterwards.
The day didn’t end there. Baby decided to express himself through art, and created a little something for daddy with crayons and drool. The fact that he was even able to use a crayon at his age totally blew my mind. I’m pretty sure that he’s Gifted… very unlike his mom and dad.
